‘Correct Handling’ is a video using a stripped-down version of ‘Out There in the Middle of Nowhere’ as a set piece. It was done in collaboration with What is Metaphor? a class offered through the Bruce High Quality Foundation University. The video is a partially improvised retelling of the May ‘68 occupation of the Sorbonne. It obliquely references Godard’s 1967 film ‘La Chinoise’ which presaged that occupation: the intent being to superimpose this radical birth of the Free University over its somewhat more politically ambivalent contemporary analog.
